The trio led by pianist Sergio Di Gennaro presents their upcoming new album, featuring a repertoire of original compositions written by the pianist and bandleader.
Ares Tavolazzi played from 1973 to 1983 with the legendary band Area, recording about ten LPs, and worked as a session musician for Mina, Guccini, Finardi, and Conte. From the 1990s to today, he has collaborated in concerts and recordings with numerous Italian and international musicians, including Vinicio Capossela, Sal Nistico, Max Roach, Lee Konitz, Phil Woods, Massimo Urbani, Enrico Rava, Stefano Bollani, Walter Paoli, Franco D’Andrea, Dado Moroni, Gianni Basso, Enrico Pieranunzi, Roberto Gatto, Danilo Rea, Mike Melillo, Ray Mantilla, Paolo Fresu, Tino Tracanna, and many more.
Sergio Di Gennaro has performed and collaborated with artists such as Gianni Basso, Dusko Goykovich, Scott Hamilton, Denise King, Lauren Henderson, Roberta Gambarini, Joyce Elaine Yuille, Barry Finnerty, Wayne Escoffery, Ronald Baker, Raynald Colom, Saliva Sandres Howard, Tony Match, Enrico Rava, Jim Rotondi, Gianluca Petrella, Emanuele Cisi, Flavio Boltro, Fabrizio Bosso, Carlo Atti, Furio Di Castri, Enzo Zirilli, Riccardo Fioravanti, Luciano Milanese, Ares Tavolazzi, Peter Giron, Sandro Gibellini, Max Ionata, Mauro Battisti, Aldo Zunino, Adam Pache, and Humberto Amesquita, performing in the finest jazz clubs across Europe.
Enzo Zirilli is one of the most versatile and creative drummers and percussionists of recent generations. Originally from Turin, he moved to London in 2004 and quickly became one of the most sought-after drummers in the UK and Europe. He has recorded and toured worldwide with many artists across jazz, world music, Latin, funk, and pop genres, including Tom Harrell, Bob Mintzer, Dado Moroni, Enrico Pieranunzi, Enrico Rava, James Moody, Gloria Gaynor, Gary Bartz, Hamish Stuart, George Garzone, Flavio Boltro, Dominique Di Piazza, Jim Mullen, and Jason Rebello (pianist for Sting and Jeff Beck), among many others.
