A fascinating musical project built on the notes of accordion, violin and piano, through original compositions and rearranged traditional themes. Active since 2017, Maestrale leads listeners along an engaging and articulated sound itinerary, which touches the dance music of Brittany and central France, the valse "musette", but also the Brazilian choro and the traditional music of the Ligurian Apennines. Filippo, Sergio and Fabio are three of the most representative figures of the Ligurian music scene in the field of music on the border between world music, new music and jazz. The debut album of the project, with the same title and published by Visage Music in 2019, was proposed by numerous European national radios. The album was recorded by the first formation of Maestrale, which saw Carmelo Russo on classical guitar, who died prematurely in autumn 2020. "Circo Carnevale" is the album that the current line-up publishes in 2022 for Visage Music and which was presented at the radio broadcast La Stanza della Musica (RaiRadio Tre) and in numerous Italian and European festivals, including Gezmataz Genova, Alpisonanti, WoW Folk Festival Castelfidardo, Festival Crinali, Civitella Alfedena Folk Festival, Etétrad, Concerts at the Abbey of S.Fruttuoso di Camogli,  Suq Genova, Festival di Musica Popolare di Forlimpopoli, La Notte della Taranta (Concerti AltraTela), Il Lago Cromatico, BorgoSonoro, Combin En Musique, Festival in una Notte d'Estate, Zap Fest, Rassegna Via Adriatica, Festa dei due Fiumi, Radicondoli Festival, Festival Internazionale di Poesia di Genova, Lucerne Festival In den Strassen, Heiden Festival.
Filippo Gambetta. He has proposed the music of his own composition in the main folk festivals of the world such as Edmonton Folk Festival, Kaustinen Folk Festival, Festival d'Eté de Quebec, Vancouver Folk Music Festival. He has collaborated with important musicians including Nuala Kennedy, Jean Michel Veillon, Max Manfredi, Riccardo Tesi, Jaron Freeman Fox, Oliver Schroer. His CD "Otto Baffi" won the twelfth edition of the Premio Nazionale Città di Loano as Best Album of traditional Italian music. He is considered one of the most important interpreters of the diatonic accordion in Europe (not surprisingly, together with Riccardo Tesi and Simone Bottasso, he was a guest of the "Notte Degli Organetti" organized by FolkClub in autumn 2009).
Sergio Caputo. He has deepened numerous musical languages and collaborated with important artists between traditional music, song, composition music of world matrix. Scholar and interpreter of traditional Mediterranean music related to the violin, he has played with Tendachent, Finisterrae, Arco Alpino, Pau Y Treva, Dona Bela, Corou de Berra, La Paranza del Geco and is one of the founders of the Ligurian Group Oggitani. Among the musical languages deepened by Sergio over the years there are Gnawa music, traditional music from the western Alpine area and the Occitan area and that of the South.
Fabio Vernizzi. Genoese composer and pianist. His eclectic training makes him a multifaceted and complete artist. Invited to numerous festivals and cultural institutes as a representative of the new generation of Italian composers, he has released two albums in which he proposes his music. He has given concerts in famous clubs such as the New Morning in Paris, the Blue Note in Milan and our FolkClub (in March 2015). With the release of "Maya" Vernizzi won the "Jazz Lighthouse" award as Best Ligurian Album of 2004. In 2010 he composed and arranged the music of the album "Janua" by the singer Roberta Alloisio, awarded the Targa Tenco and the National City of Loano Award as Best Album of the Year.
