The concert with which Paolo Capodacqua presented us his wonderful "Ferite&feritoie" in autumn 2021 was truly unforgettable, of incomparable intensity and beauty. In recent years Paolo has worked on a new album that already promises to be splendid, but we just can't wait for the record to be ready to have it back on our stage...
The new songs are there. Of these, one, Gianni Rivera, was released as a single, with the production of Storie di note, on all digital platforms on August 18 of this year to celebrate the eighty years of the Golden Boy, but also to tell with tenderness a generation and a period of Italian history. The other songs are still in the drawer, but Paolo has decided, for the affectionate relationship that for more than twenty years binds him to our restaurant, to tell us about them and let us listen to some in preview at the Folkclub, among dear friends. To accompany his voice and his guitar there will be Giacomo Lelli, versatile musician, for many years partner on stage of Goran Kuzminac. Obviously there will be other songs that make up the rich repertoire of the Abruzzo singer-songwriter, as of course there will be the songs of "Ferite & feritoie", a CD of delicate singer-songwriter poetry enthusiastically welcomed by critics and in the opinion of the FolkClub a precious jewel of Italian songwriting of all time. In the concert Paolo Capodacqua proposes his songs like polished stones that emerge from the river of a story. A story in song in which unfolds, between anecdotes, memories and literary references, the narration of a musical adventure that began over forty years ago between incidental music, author contaminations, composition of songs for children and iconic guitar by Claudio Lolli. In the last thirty years Paolo Capodacqua has become an important reference point for children's songwriting, producing several albums and carrying out an intense concert and theatrical activity dedicated to children in schools and theaters throughout Italy. In addition, some of his songs have been included in the textbooks of the Primary School and, in 2017, the children's choir of the Conservatory of Piacenza dedicated a CD to him with the reinterpretation of fifteen of his songs. But those who have followed the artistic evolution of Paolo Capodacqua remember him above all as Claudio Lolli's guitarist, inseparable "man-orchestra" of the great Bolognese singer-songwriter, with whom he shared a unique musical and human adventure in our country, an adventure that saw the two friends protagonists of a "never-ending tour" that crossed Italy for twenty-two years, It started in 1992 and lasted until the last concert in 2014. A journey, that of Paolo, articulated between concerts, record publications, awards, journalistic, radio and critical activities, sailed from the port of songwriting in 1987 with the LP "Memorabilia" and here returned with an important landing in 2019 with "Ferite & feritoie", an album that tries to shed light on the real world, telling of migrants, secret lovers and thieves, of the last moments of Dr. Ernesto Guevara's life, but also of the Palermo of Judge Falcone or the sacrifice of children in concentration camps. A record that also marked the return to record production of the Storie di Note label and that makes use of the presentation of Angelo Ferracuti and the friendly participation of guests such as Roberto Piumini, Nicola Alesini, Flaco Biondini, Kay Mc Carthy, Michele Gazich, Naira Gonzalez, Pippo Pollina, Roberto Soldati. In recent years Paolo has received important awards such as the Premio Civilia, the Targa Storica and Nuova Canzone d'Autore di Ferrara, the Sigillo della Città di Abano, the Premio Lesina. The resounding success of "Ferite&feritoie" led Capodacqua on tour throughout Italy as well as on the stage of the MEI in Faenza in October 2020, at the Swiss festival "La Grande Bellezza" in autumn 2021, organized in Zurich by an enthusiastic Pippo Pollina, and at the Festival "Canzoni&Parole", on the occasion of the first and second edition of the Italian Songwriting Festival in Paris, in the spring of 2022 and 2023. Everywhere Paolo enchants!
