A duo of sensational guitarists and singer-songwriters from the East Coast

Jefferson Hamer: vocals, guitar, harp
Reed Foehl: vocals, guitar

Making their first appearance at FolkClub, two of the most beloved acoustic singer-songwriters and guitarists from the East Coast.
Jefferson Hamer is a guitarist, producer, and songwriter from Brooklyn, New York. He has previously toured and recorded with Anaïs Mitchell, with whom he created and released the multi-award-winning album Child Ballads, which includes a touching rendition of "Geordie", famously translated and popularized in Italy by Fabrizio De André. Jefferson has collaborated with the Boston cult band Session Americana, Sarah Jarosz (contributing to the Grammy-nominated album "Blue Heron Suite"), Liz Hanley, Kristin Andreassen, Laura Cortese, and Beppe Gambetta, who invited him to perform at his acclaimed "Acoustic Night" festival dedicated to guitarists, held every May in Genoa. His album "Alameda", featuring a rich electroacoustic sound and special guests from the New York folk community and beyond, showcases his unique musical world. The more traditional side of his artistry shines through in "The Murphy Beds", his longstanding folk duo with Eamon O’Leary. Jefferson is currently releasing a series of original songs recorded and mixed in the legendary building at 68 Jay Street in Brooklyn, situated beneath the Manhattan Bridge overpass.
Reed Foehl was born in a small rural town in New England and grew up in a family of musicians. He crafts poignant stories of the human condition, blending heartfelt lyrics with a voice that transcends boundaries while honoring tradition. His music—a mix of authentic folk and Americana—stands out for its compelling melodies and nods to the greats of American songwriting, including Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, Guy Clark, and Todd Snider, with whom he has often shared the stage on tour. His latest and sixth studio album, "Wild Wild Love", was recorded in Austin, Texas, with The Band of Heathens. Praised by the Boston Globe for his storytelling, the publication notes that his work "feels every note, every song tells a story... delivered with striking authenticity." Foehl received a Grammy nomination for his song "Fly", co-written with Brent Cobb and performed by country legend Lee Ann Womack. Now residing in Vermont’s Green Mountains, Foehl continues to share his music across the globe.
