LA SESI invites FUENSANTA "LA MONETA"
Curated by Arte y Flamenco and FolkClub
The "Tablao d’Autore" series, created in 2004 by Arte y Flamenco, is dedicated to a unique style of performance featuring solo or small ensemble presentations by renowned Flamenco artists, staged outside the grand theater context. The concept remains focused on showcasing the three fundamental elements of Flamenco—toque (guitar), cante (singing), and baile (dance)—in intimate settings. These performances provide aficionados with authentic, “pure” experiences, free from the embellishments often required for larger stages. Since its inception, this initiative has grown steadily, leading to the creation in 2009 of a biennial International Festival/Competition, "Flamenco Puro," now held in Jerez de la Frontera. In 2013, the series expanded to include a “young” version titled "Tablao d’Autore - Nuevas Generaciones," and in 2016, the #CompartirTablao series was born. Initially launched by Arte y Flamenco (AYF) and, starting this season, co-organized with Folkclub—which has supported AYF's Flamenco projects from the beginning—"#CompartirTABLAO" is one of the most distinctive Flamenco events in Turin. This cherished event brings together a talented and experienced local bailaora with unique qualities and guest artists from Spain who excel in baile, toque, and cante. Each artist, with their individual expertise and distinctive characteristics, creates a rare equilibrium on stage. For the 2025 edition, La Sesi, a bailaora originally from Turin, invites Fuensanta “La Moneta,” a celebrated Flamenco artist who has graced some of the world’s most prestigious stages. Once a child prodigy, La Moneta is a Gitana dancer rooted in the ancient artistic traditions of her native Granada. Revered for her impeccable technique and powerful expressiveness, she is considered a leading female voice of pure Granadian Flamenco. A virtuoso in all aspects of Flamenco dance, her mastery of zapateado (rhythmic footwork) is unparalleled. Her unique style is both pure and forceful, embodying the essence of a Gitana bailaora from Granada at the pinnacle of her craft. La Moneta offers a Flamenco performance that is traditional and pure while incorporating a deeply personal touch, a hallmark of today’s greatest artists. On the FolkClub stage, her solo dances will be interspersed with moments of cante and music, accompanied by two outstanding musicians. This promises to be an exceptional evening, not to be missed, as always at FolkClub, where the quality of performances remains unmatched and brimming with authenticity.
